Have You Lived Before? Questions to Ask Yourself

One of the most interesting things about past life regression is that many people are drawn to it long before they fully understand why. Something inside them feels curious about the idea of reincarnation, soul memories, or the possibility that this life may not be the beginning of their journey. I don’t think that curiosity happens by accident. Sometimes the soul or our guides gently nudge us toward deeper questions when we’re ready to grow beyond what we currently understand about ourselves.

Over the years, I’ve noticed that people who explore past life regression often share similar experiences. They may have fears that seem irrational and difficult to explain. They may feel emotionally connected to certain cultures, time periods, or places they’ve never experienced in this life. Some people carry strong emotional reactions from childhood that don’t seem connected to anything that happened to them personally. Others have recurring dreams, deep feelings of déjà vu, or an unexplainable sense that they’ve “known” someone before almost immediately after meeting them.

One question worth asking yourself is whether certain emotional patterns keep repeating in your life no matter how hard you try to change them. Do you struggle with abandonment, trust, guilt, fear, or loneliness in ways that feel deeper than your current life experiences seem to explain? Sometimes our souls carry emotional lessons forward from previous experiences because we haven’t fully healed or understood them yet. Regression work can help reveal where some of those deeper emotional patterns may have begun.

Another thing many people notice is a strong pull toward specific locations or historical periods. I’ve worked with clients who felt emotionally overwhelmed while visiting a country they had never been to before. Others have had lifelong fascinations with certain languages, cultures, or ways of living without understanding why. While there may be logical explanations for these connections, there are times when the emotional intensity feels as though the soul itself recognizes something familiar beneath the surface.

I also believe our spiritual guides often plant little breadcrumbs throughout our lives to encourage our growth. Those moments of déjà vu, those unexplainable emotional reactions, or those sudden feelings of familiarity may be gentle reminders that the soul’s story is much larger than this single lifetime. Whether you view these experiences spiritually or symbolically, they often invite us to look inward and ask deeper questions about who we truly are and what lessons we came here to learn.

At the end of the day, you don’t have to fully believe in past lives to begin exploring these ideas. The important thing is remaining open and curious about your own experiences. Sometimes the soul speaks softly through intuition, emotion, dreams, and patterns we can’t quite explain logically. And sometimes asking the question “Have I lived before?” becomes less about proving something intellectually and more about understanding yourself, your struggles, and your purpose in a deeper and more meaningful way.
